The University of North Texas
Denton, Texas - UNT residence halls were feeling the increased pressure to stay competitive with their Internet connection speeds and faced the challenge of upgrading the entire network infrastucture while finishing major residential expansion projects. By working with Apogee to bring buildings on in stages, UNT was able to seamlessly convert their campus, add wireless capability and redeploy existing staff to a "wish list" of waiting projects.
San Francisco State University
San Francisco - After experiencing extraordinary growth in enrollment over recent years, San Francisco State saw that their technology and support needs were increasing rapidly. Recognizing that their current network would soon reach capacity, school officials developed an ambitious plan for network expansion. Through a series of phased acquisition projects, they began expanding their housing facilities, adding several large-scale residential communities adjacent to campus. By adding integrated voice, video and data services to each new bed, the existing housing network would expand by an additional 12,000+ connections.
Hardin House
Austin, Texas - To meet the growing demands of its student residents, Hardin House, a private women´s dormitory at the University of Texas, partnered with Apogee to implement a cost-effective wireless network solution. Upon completion the network installation, Apogee surveyed Hardin House residents and found that they were very satisfied with their new wireless network.
Southwestern University
Georgetown, Texas - Southwestern University found that over 90% of the traffic on its residential network was entertainment-related, causing them to severely restrict services and applications. This dramatically reduced bandwidth-availability for academic purposes, took significant time away from ITS staff, and diverted funds from support services and application development. In searching for a comprehensive solution, Southwestern partnered with Apogee and has since experienced a twelve-fold increase in bandwidth and a refocusing of its ITS Group on core mission projects.
Southgate Campus Center
Tallahassee, Florida - With a tradition of providing the best in service and comfort for Florida State University and Florida A&M students, SouthGate Campus Centre found itself bogged down, increasingly devoting resources to Internet service maintenance. Needing a solution that would allow them to focus on customer service while continuing to offer high-speed Internet access, Southgate turned to Apogee, who provided network management as well as a high level of service to all of Southgate´s residents, freeing management to focus on their primary goal: providing room and board.
