Apogee Joins with Tarleton State University to Manage Student Network

Austin, Texas
February 26th, 2008

Apogee, leading provider of innovative technology solutions to higher education, announced today that it would begin managing the student residential network at Tarleton State University, providing digital television programming and broadband internet service to approximately 1,500 on-campus residents.

"This partnership is a classic 'win-win' for Tarleton," said Rusty Jergins, Associate Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students at the university. "We're able to focus on furthering the academic mission of the university while raising the standard of living for our students. Apogee offered a proven standard of technology and support, and their customized solution was a great fit for our campus."

Under the agreement, Tarleton students will benefit from a broad selection of high-quality digital television programming, including a custom mix of local, satellite and university broadcast channels - as well as five channels of streaming Direct-to-Desktop IP TV. Residents will be able to select from a variety of tiered service levels for high-speed broadband internet, with custom speeds designed to meet the needs of the entire campus community.

"Students will be able to choose from a number of service options tailored to reflect their individual usage," said Charles Brady, Apogee CEO. "From basic email and surfing to the bandwidth-intensive gamer, there's a custom plan to match every resident at very affordable rates."

In joining with Apogee, Tarleton State joins universities across the nation who have found a solution to increased bandwidth and mobility demands through network partnership.

"We're very excited to partner with Tarleton State," Brady said. "We know that we were chosen from a number of vendors because of our ability to provide service and support to a diverse audience, and we're thrilled to be working together to outfit campus residences with the latest cable and broadband technologies."
